Here are a few things about my Lotus Esprit GT3.
It is a December 1997 model which has got the new-style interior (see my photos of it here). Lotus stopped making the GT3 around the year 2000.
The GT3 is very light and handles superbly, although I'm thinking about putting a few sacks of gravel under the bonnet to weigh the front down!

A very popular and interesting project. The Lotus Esprit has an Assembly Line Diagnostic (ALDL) connector dangling just above the battery on the right-hand side of the car. Here, you can plug-in an expensive device called a Tech-1 scanner which can tell you all sorts of things about the engine.
There is another connector above the passenger foot-well, underneath the glove-box. It's exactly half way between the door and centre-console. It has a few extra wires connected to it but the ALDL ECU wires are in the same place as the boot-mounted version.
You can short out two of the terminals (A and B) which will cause the "Check Engine" light to flash fault-codes at you. Check-out Karl's excellent Esprit Fact File for all sorts of details on this subject.

Anyway, shorting out two wires and counting flashes sounds like hard work to me! How about plugging-in your trusty PC to do the same job and more? Read all about it here in my ECU page:

The problem with buying direct from Lotus is that you usually pay a premium for the privilege. It seems that the further you live from East England, the more you pay! Click on the area you would like below:

Cars have this effect on people. I think it's a bit like proud parents who have just had a new baby; they want to thrust pictures about them to everybody. Well, I'm no exception, click on the links to view my Lotus from various angles.
